The Seine-Saint-Denis district, which will host several sites for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, in search to demonstrates its dynamism through cultural and heritage actions, asked us to create a photographic exhibition to present a selection of sports equipment built over more than a century in the suburbs of northeastern Paris. Urban laboratory, especially in sports, this territory is rich in a history where sports equipment played a decisive role and continue to occupy an essential place in our daily lives as in the urban landscape.

The photographs of this exhibition are taken from an inventory campaign carried out on the occasion of the publication of the book Sport and Architecture in Seine-Saint-Denis. Sports equipment in the suburbs of north-eastern Paris (19th-21st century). This book published by La Découverte was produced by the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Departmental Council of Seine-Saint-Denis with the collaboration of N. Kssis, historian and journalist.
